Data Broker Teach In

Tuesday, March 18, 2025 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Data Broker Teach In Tuesday, March 18th, 4pm-5pm Room 134

Come learn how LexisNexis and Westlaw, the legal research duopoly, are contributing to mass deportation!

A coalition of law schools called the End the Contract Coalition (ECC) is bringing awareness to how LexisNexis and Westlaw’s parent companies share personal data with ICE that is used to find and deport immigrants. ECC is planning this teach-in to discuss how big tech facilitates deportation and how communities are fighting back.

The event is virtual, but there will be an in person viewing of the event (with boba!) so Berkeley students can meet other people interested in fighting immigrant surveillance and working with ECC. This event is co-sponsored by PrivLAB and the Berkeley Immigration Group. Please email kaylana@berkeley.edu with any questions. RSVP here.
