Thursday, October 17, 2024 @ 3:50 pm - 5:00 pm

The Honorable Janice Rogers Brown Retired Judge of the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit (2005-2017) and Associate Justice of the California Supreme Court (1996-2005); Dr. John C. Eastman Former Dean of Chapman University School of Law, Founding Director of the Claremont Institute’s Center for Constitutional Jurisprudence; October 17 3:50-5:00PM Booth Auditorium

Throughout the world, concerns have emerged within democratic countries that the rule of law is being undermined and weaponized as a tool by leaders against their political opponents. While that debate has been particularly pronounced in the United States in the lead-up to the 2024 presidential election, it has also been present in other countries like Brazil, Israel, and Poland. Come hear about the implications that this trend towards lawfare might have on civil liberties and democratic norms from former D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals Judge and California Supreme Court Justice Janice Rogers Brown and former dean of Chapman Law John C. Eastman. Event will be held from 3:50-5:00PM in Booth Auditorium on October 17th.
