Core in Context: Civil Procedure w/ Prof. Andrew Bradt

Come learn concrete ways to interpret Civil Procedure through a social justice lens. For many students committed to working for the marginalized, the first year of law school can be disorienting, and technical court rules can seem disconnected from equity work. In this conversation, Professor Andrew Bradt will offer a grounding touchstone for our community’s newest members, illustrating how procedural strategy determines who gets heard in court, how remedies are awarded, and where systemic barriers exist.

Professor Bradt is a recipient of the UC Berkeley Distinguished Teaching Award and serves as Associate Reporter to the Judicial Conference Advisory Committee on Civil Rules. As Faculty Director of the Civil Justice Research Initiative, a think tank focused on expanding access to justice, his work centers on complex litigation and federal court procedure. Before entering academia, he clerked on the District Court and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and has practiced as a litigator.
