Consumer Law and Economic Justice Colloquium, Joint with Work Law Colloquium – Andrea Freeman

Consumer Law and Economic Justice Colloquium joint with Work Law Colloquium present Debt Oppression. and international expert on the intersections between critical race theory and food policy, health, and consumer credit. She is a Fulbright scholar and the author of multiple books, winner of the L.A. Times Book Prize in History and James Beard Award for Food Issues and Advocacy, law review articles, book chapters and reviews, and op-eds.   Professor Freeman teaches Constitutional Law, Federal Courts, Race, Culture, and Law in the U.S. and the UK, Food Law and Policy, and Comparative Social Justice and Constitutional Law.

Join the Consumer Law and Economic Justice Colloquium, joint with the Work Law Colloquium for a presentation by Andrea Freeman (Southwestern Law School), titled ‘Debt Oppression’. 

This course provides students with an opportunity to be exposed to and discuss ongoing research and scholarship in consumer law and economic justice. Every other week, an invited speaker from Berkeley or elsewhere will present a work in progress, and then take questions from students and faculty in the audience. Speakers will include prominent thought leaders in law, public policy, and the social sciences.
