Thursday, September 21, 2023 @ 12:50 pm - 2:00 pm

Flyer for CLAW Fall Kickoff Event with Lorena Gonzalez

Join the Berkeley Center for Law and Work (CLAW) for an exciting conversation with one of the most prominent and influential labor leaders of our time! The visionary Lorena Gonzalez Fletcher, the first woman and person of color to head the California Labor Federation (AFL-CIO), will share her perspectives leading the 2.1 million member Federation, with its 1,200 affiliated unions. Don’t miss the opportunity to meet the person POLITICO previously called the “brain trust for California’s most ambitious policy ideas” when she was in the California Legislature. Read why here. Throughout her celebrated career as a lawyer, labor leader, and legislator, she has been a tireless champion of workers, who has transformed the state’s labor and employment laws to make California a national leader in protecting and advancing worker rights. Hear her insights on the labor movement, including challenges and opportunities in the fight for worker justice, and come be inspired!

All UC Berkeley students, faculty, and staff are welcome!

Space is limited. Lunch will be provided on a first come, first served basis. RSVP here or through the QR code. We will unfortunately need to close registration once we reach capacity.
