Center for Consumer Law and Economic Justice – Welcome and Orientation II

Monday, September 17, 2018 @ 12:45 pm - 2:00 pm

Want to do something to stop abuses by companies like Equifax, Wells Fargo, Corinthian Colleges, Volkswagen, opioid manufacturers, data aggregators, unscrupulous landlords, robo-callers? Want to help resist efforts by the federal Administration to roll back protections for servicemembers, deprive student borrowers of promised relief, and gut the CFPB? Come learn about consumer law — the one area of law that lets you do something about all of this — and hear how you can get involved in fighting for economic justice in the courts and the legislature. (Or how you can help your future clients avoid problems like these in the first place.) The Center for Consumer Law & Economic Justice is Berkeley Law’s newest institution, and the only academic center of its kind in the nation. Come to this special welcome and orientation for 2Ls, 3Ls, LL.M.’s, and anyone else interested in consumer law (and Cheeseboard Pizza)! (Yes, you heard right — Cheeseboard pizza on a Monday! How is that possible, you ask, when Cheeseboard and Nabolom are closed on Mondays? Come find out!)
