[CDO] Open Office Hours with Justice David Wecht (PA Supreme)

Thursday, February 5, 2026 @ 10:30 am - 11:00 am

We are delighted to welcome The Honorable David Wecht of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania to campus.  Justice Wecht will be available for informal, drop-in Q&A with all students.

Justice David Wecht was raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Yale Law School in 1987, he served as a law clerk to Judge George MacKinnon (D.C. Cir.) before entering private practice.  Justice Wecht was twice elected as Allegheny County’s Register of Wills and Clerk of Orphans’ Court.  In those roles, he created programs for free will consultation programs for seniors and helped author a state law that prevents accused murderers from controlling their victims’ estates.  In 2003, Justice Wecht began serving as a judge on the Court of Common Pleas for Pennsylvania’s Fifth Judicial District in 2003.  In 2012, he joined the Superior Court of Pennsylvania before winning election to the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania in 2016.
