California is a pioneer in renewable energy adoption and clean energy transition: solar generation has increased nearly ten-fold since 2013, creating significant challenges for grid integration—most notably exemplified by the so-called “Duck Curve.” In this webinar, speakers will present how California has managed this challenge through adopting new technologies and policy innovation, including refining its resource adequacy program. These programs have helped California meet two-thirds of its retail electricity from clean energy sources, several years ahead of its 2030 goal of 60% clean electricity. Such experience offers valuable lessons for other major economies who are undergoing similar energy transitions to meet their development, clean energy and climate goals.
