Join the Berkeley Journal of Criminal Law for the first talk in the journal’s three part symposium focused on reimagining the criminal legal system. Berkeley Law Professor Jonathan Simon will speak about the reasons for defunding the police and ending congregate imprisonment, alternatives to those current systems, and how interpersonal violence specifically can be effectively addressed without today’s police and prisons.
