Event Navigation
BRAVE is a new student organization dedicating to ending gender-based violence and systems of abuse. If you are interested in learning more about membership and leadership opportunities for the fall, please join us. This will be a Lunch & Craft GBM, where we will craft awareness ribbons for Sexual Violence Awareness Month.
April is Sexual Violence Awareness Month. Join BRAVE on Tuesday, April 14 in Room 170 Koret ILC during the lunch hour to craft awareness ribbons for victim-survivors of Sexual Violence/Assault.
As law students, all of us know, love, or are victim-survivors of sexual violence. Sexual violence is alarmingly common: 81% of women, 50% of trans, nonbinary, and gender-nonconforming people, and 43% of men report experiencing some form of sexual harassment or assault (NSVRC). More than half of victim-survivors are between 18 and 34 years old (RAINN). And yet, despite its prevalence, sexual violence remains difficult to confront and too often goes unspoken. As Berkeley Law students, we are uniquely positioned to confront this urgent issue, support survivors, and help prevent violence.
All members of the Berkeley Law community are invited to a welcoming, reflective, and creative space to discuss prevention, survivor support, and the reflections this month may bring up. We hope to see you there.
Lunch will be from Cheese Board Collective.
