Berkeley Law Family Defense Panel

Tuesday, March 14, 2023 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

Tan flyer with: \"Family Defense Panel\" in red bold letters. Underneath it says: \"Tuesday, March 14 | 12:30 to 2pm | Room provided after RSVP\" in black letters. Pictures of the panelists are at the center with Martin Guggenheim, Fiorello La Guardia Professor of Clinical Law Emeritus, NYU School of Law at the left. Meredith Wallis, Supervising Attorney, East Bay Family Defenders in the middle. Jessica Nowlan, President, Reimagine Freedom Center on the right. Underneath these photos is black text that says: \\\"Moderated by Professor Khiara M. Bridges.\\\" At the bottom is a banner with the event description in white, the logos of the sponsors, and the RSVP link.

Under the banner of the “child welfare” system, the state punishes and destroys vulnerable families. The experts on this panel will discuss strategies for disrupting a family regulation system that ultimately harms the children it purports to protect.

Sponsored by the Thelton E. Henderson Center for Social Justice, Defenders at Berkeley, Gender Journal, Family Defense Project, and the Womxn of Color Collective.

RSVP at tinyurl.com/FDPanel2023. Room will be provided after RSVP.
