From Law Student To Trial Lawyer: The Associate’s Role In Complex IP Cases And Trials

We will discuss how to transition from being a law student to being an associate, as well as how to get the opportunities to work on and succeed in high-stakes and complex IP cases as a junior and mid-level associate.

Brett Sanford is an associate in the Silicon Valley office of Latham & Watkins. Mr. Sandford’s practice focuses on patent litigation and other areas of intellectual property litigation for clients in the computer security, networking, electronics, network switching, software, memory, and semiconductor industries.

The BCLT/BTLJ Law & Tech Speaker Series features local practitioners, bringing real world experience and practical legal knowledge to Berkeley Law students.

Lunch is served for students staying for the entire presentation.

Co-sponsored by the Berkeley Center for Law & Technology and the Berkeley Technology Law Journal. This event is open to current Berkeley Law students, Berkeley Law affiliates and BCLT law firm sponsors only.
