What Every Silicon Valley Lawyer Has To Know About IP
The ideas of thousands of brilliant people in Silicon Valley have generated trillions of dollars in value. These ideas are harnessed and protected as IP (intellectual property). What is the real relationship among creativity, IP protection, and value? Kilpatrick Townsend patent prosecutor Mark Mathison will explain how the various types of IP protection are really used in the Valley.
Mark Mathison, partner at Kilpatrick Townsend, focuses his practice on patent prosecution and counseling for electronics, electromechanical devices, and mechanical technologies as well as software, Internet, network, e-commerce, and other computer-related technologies. His legal experience includes drafting and prosecuting patent applications, analyzing patentability and freedom-to-operate issues, and performing patent infringement analyses of competitors’ products.
The BCLT/BTLJ Law & Tech Speaker Series features local practitioners, bringing real world experience and practical legal knowledge to Berkeley Law students.
Lunch is served for students staying for the entire presentation.
