BCLB Leadership Lunch Talk: The Courts & Corporate Accountability in an Era of Technological Change

Tuesday, March 3, 2026 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

The Courts and Corporate Accountability in an Era of Technological Change

A Lunch Conversation with Judge Jed Rakoff, Senior Judge, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York

In just the past year, Judge Jed Rakoff has been at the center of some of the most closely watched legal developments in the country. He presided over the landmark Terraform Labs case, holding the founders of a $40 billion collapsed crypto empire liable for fraud and setting a significant precedent for how courts apply securities law to digital assets. Most recently, he issued the first ruling in the nation addressing whether AI-generated documents are protected by attorney-client privilege — concluding that they are not. Join the Berkeley Center for Law and Business for a lunch conversation as Judge Rakoff reflects on these decisions and what they signal for the future of cryptocurrency regulation, artificial intelligence, and the role of the courts in an era of rapid technological change. The Leadership Lunch Series is reserved for current law students, faculty and staff. Registration is highly recommended. Registration is highly recommended. Lunch provided on a first-come, first-serve basis to students who register and stay for the entire program.
