Bake Sale for Nepal
Wednesday, September 16, 2026 @ 8:00 am - 3:00 pm
Event Navigation

In August, following a glacial collapse, landslides caused catastrophic flash flooding along the Trishuli River, displacing communities and destroying local infrastructure, including hydroelectric power stations, which account for 10% of Nepal’s power capacity. This tragedy is another example of climate change increasing the rate and severity of natural disasters that cause extreme devastation and displacement.
With thousands of people killed or missing and many without power, funding raised by the bake sale will support emergency response efforts by the World Central Kitchen. WCK is currently on the ground setting up community kitchens to serve hot meals to displaced individuals and aid workers impacted by the flooding.
This event is co-sponsored by the Climate Migration and Displacement Project (CMDP), South Asian Law Student Association (SALSA), Environmental Conservation Outreach (ECO), the International Law Society, the Journal of International Law (BJIL), Native American Law Students Association (NALSA) and Ecology Law Quarterly (ELQ).
These events are open only to UC Berkeley Law students, faculty, and staff, unless otherwise noted.
