As artificial intelligence rapidly transforms industries — including legal services, life sciences, and frontier research — legal teams at AI companies are navigating novel questions around regulation, intellectual property, privacy, safety, and product deployment.
In this moderated discussion, Janel will share:
- Her career path to becoming Deputy GC at Anthropic
- How she thinks about building and scaling a legal team at a frontier AI company
- The key legal, regulatory, and policy challenges Anthropic is navigating
- How legal teams can proactively engage with fast-moving technical organizations
- Reflections on emerging AI products and their impact on legal and policy markets
The first half of the conversation will focus on her career journey and leadership experience. The second half will dive into Anthropic’s approach to AI governance, product deployment, and the evolving regulatory landscape.
