Run for the Environment 2012

The Center for Law, Energy & the Environment’s Inaugural Run for the Environment 2012

It’s the Centennial year for Berkeley Law,  and CLEE wants to celebrate Berkeley Law and the environment by running the Healdsburg Half Marathon this October 27th, 2012.  This special event is all about celebrating nature, great wine and bringing the community together.

There are two easy ways to get involved:

(1) Join us as a runner!  This event sells out fast, so register early.  When you register, send us an email, and we’ll add you to our roster.  We’ll also send optional training materials and templates for your own fundraising emails.

(2) Help us Across the Finish Line.  Whether or not you can join us on the trail, we encourage you to give us a big “push” during our Run for the Environment by making a gift to Berkeley Law’s Center for Law, Energy & the Environment (CLEE).  It’s easy to do so online here.  Alternatively, you can mail us a check to Berkeley Law (CLEE) / 2850 Telegraph Ave. Ste. 500 / Berkeley, CA 94705.

Any donations to CLEE count fully as gifts to Berkeley Law and the Centennial campaign.  It’s the perfect time to give back!  In addition, all gifts are recorded in Berkeley’s Annual Review of Philanthropy as gifts to Berkeley Law (without any special designation to CLEE).

Finally, any alumni who graduated after 2007 will have their gifts doubled thanks to a matching campaign.  So for those of you who are alums, there is no better time to show your support – $25, $50 or $100 really will go far.

What we’re running for:  The Center for Law, Energy & the Environment at Berkeley Law supports critical programs for law students who are pursuing environmental and energy work by bringing in dynamic speakers, establishing mentoring programs, finding job placements, and sponsoring conferences and events.  The Center also carries out important public policy work, publishing white papers and policy briefs on critical issues like California’s cap-and-trade auction, local renewable energy policy, and protecting California’s water quality and resources.  Finally, our award-winning environmental law and policy blog produces short, insightful posts on timely issues.  You can review our our Annual Report for more information.

If you are interested in joining our team, please email our director.  And please consider making a gift to push us across the finish line!  Thanks for all that you do.
