Michael Esposito

Michael Esposito is Vice President of Bluemoon Software, with responsibilities for software, business development, and strategic alliances.  He is also a senior consultant and advisory board member of The Energy Center at the University of Texas School of Law.

He previously served for ten years as Assistant Dean of Continuing Education at the University of Texas Law School, during which time he substantially grew the scope, national reach and reputation of the program – particularly in the areas of Patent and Technology Law, Business Valuations, M&A, Nonprofit Organizations, and cross-disciplinary programs in Oil and Gas, Renewables, Power Markets, and International Energy.  See www.utcle.org.

Mr. Esposito has a broad interest in energy, technology, marketing, behavioral economics and finance, and developing programs that facilitate learning and discussion between practitioners, government officials, industry and academics.He is co-chair of the 2013 Berkeley-Stanford Advanced Patent Law Institute, an annual Silicon Valley gathering of leading practitioners, government officials, and academics.

He previously served as Attorney-Advisor at the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) in Washington DC, working primarily on tax and economic policy issues with the Council of Economic Advisors and the Treasury’s Office of Tax Policy.He is also co-founder of a successful Austin software company, and provides strategic and funding advice to start-up and early-stage companies.

He holds a J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law, and an undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Rochester.
