Students worked with John Morris (Director of the Internet Standards, Technology, and Policy Project) to contribute to the Internet Engineering Task Force(IETF), geopriv working group. The working group’s task is to identify and addresses the privacy, authorization, and integrity requirements that must be met in order to transfer geographic location information. As part of this effort, John and the Clinic have written an Internet-Draft entitled Framework for Location Computation Scenarios. This is part of a broader venture by the Center for Democracy & Technology (CDT) to increase the public interest community’s understanding of Internet standards setting activities and increase the public interest community’s input into the standards processes when appropriate.
