Last week Center Executive Director Ted Mermin appeared in a KTVU Fox 2 news segment to comment on the recent FCC ruling permitting phone companies to use robocall-blocking technologies. While the ruling may lead to a reduction of such calls, Mermin also pointed out the law’s shortcomings, namely that it does not require companies to implement these blocking technologies but rather simply encourages it.
