Work Study
With the federal work-study program, eligible Berkeley Law students may be able to receive a combination of federal, employer and Edley Grant funds for their summer public interest/public sector work. To determine if you are work-study eligible, contact the Financial Aid Office (financial-aid@law.berkeley.edu).
If a student draws on work-study funding during the summer and is also seeking Edley Grant funding, the student should first work with the summer employer and the Financial Aid office to determine the amount of funding the employer and the university will provide to the student. Depending on those amounts, Edley Grant funds will then be available to the student under the same terms that apply to other students receiving additional (non-work study) funding from their employers or other sources. To discuss how work-study funding might interact with the Edley Grant in your individual situation, please contact the CDO.
