Association Of American Law Schools

AALS offers three services to individuals interested in law school faculty positions.

  • The Faculty Appointments Register: The FAR is a collection of information about candidates interested in teaching at law schools. Deans and recruiters of AALS member and fee-paid schools, and other participating schools, review this information in preparation for the Faculty Recruitment Conference. To participate in the FAR, you will input your qualifications and experiences into an online database.This database will be made available to recruiters. Recruiters will also receive a printed-out version of the FAR.
  • The Placement Bulletin is a publication that lists available faculty and administrative positions, as well as positions related to legal education outside law schools. It comes out six times each academic year. A separate subscription to the Placement Bulletin costs $14 per issue, or $59 for a year’s subscription (six issues). The Placement Bulletin is now available online to FAR registrants.
  • Faculty Recruitment Conference: The FRC is organized to offer law school recruiting teams and registrants interested in faculty positions an opportunity to meet and interview within a short time.

Chronicle Of Higher Education

Academe This Week is a service of The Chronicle of Higher Education.Published weekly, The Chronicle is the No. 1 news source for college and university faculty members and administrators.A subscription to The Chronicle includes free access to Academe Today, a daily World-Wide Web and electronic-mail service.Lists job openings for faculty, research, administrative, and executive positions as well as some positions outside of academe.
