Dear Berkeley Law Faculty and Staff,
As expected, the University of California Office of the President has adopted a COVID vaccine policy. The final version was released on July 15. As of August 2, the policy requires that you prove that you are “fully vaccinated” (or else submit a medical or religious exemption or pregnancy deferral request) in order to be on campus. Fully vaccinated means having the final shot (e.g., either the Johnson & Johnson shot or the second Moderna/Pfizer shot) two weeks before you return to campus.
If you received a vaccination off campus, you will need to upload your verification and other required documentation to eTang. Please do this as soon as possible, and no later than August 4, so we can ensure compliance in advance of classes and other in-person activities.
In addition to complying with the vaccine policy, to be present at the Law School’s buildings you will need to:
- Complete at least one COVID test on campus (even if vaccinated)
- Complete required training: EHS 207 UCB Guidelines on Protecting Workers from COVID-19 (Cal login required)
- Download the Berkeley Mobile App for a clearance badge to be on campus
- Complete a daily symptom screener
- Acquire a Cal1 card for building access if you do not have one already
As a reminder, beginning today, and until further announcement, everyone in the Law School building must wear a mask unless alone in an office.
I very much look forward to our return to campus and to the beginning of in-person classes on August 16! Our goal is to do everything we can to protect the health and safety of our students, staff, and faculty.
Warmly,
Erwin Chemerinsky
