Molly Shaffer Van Houweling, a prominent scholar in cyberlaw and intellectual property, is joining Boalt’s growing faculty this fall as an acting professor of law. Van Houweling, who previously taught at the University of Michigan Law School, is the fifth new tenure-track or tenured professor to arrive at Boalt this academic year. A Harvard Law School graduate, she was a visiting professor at Boalt in 2004-05. Her teaching and research interests include intellectual property, law and technology, property, and constitutional law. Van Houweling joins David Sklansky, Leti Volpp, Kenneth Bamberger and Erin Murphy as the newest additions to Boalt’s distinguished faculty corps. Their hiring reflects Boalt’s plans to expand its faculty by 40 percent over the next few years.
