Students from Boalt’s American Constitution Society, in collaboration with the organization’s national and Bay Area chapters, are hosting a two-day Access to Justice Symposium and West Coast Networking Conference on April 7 and 8. The first day, a panel of judges from the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals will discuss the proposed split of their court. The event starts at 6 p.m. at the San Francisco War Memorial Veterans Building in San Francisco.
The following day, the conference moves to Boalt Hall, where discussions will focus on such issues as post-9/11 access to justice, classwide relief and class-action litigation, and careers in immigration and poverty law. The program begins at 8:45 a.m. in Booth Auditorium. U.S. Rep. Zoe Lofgren, D-San Jose, will deliver the keynote address.
