Led by Berkeley Law’s Christopher Kutz, UC Berkeley professors have launched a website to channel ideas from campus scholars to the new Obama Administration. Called “Blue Sky: News Ideas for the Obama Administration,” the new site features about two dozen essays on topics such as energy policy, the Iraq War, identity theft and repairing the Department of Justice.
“The idea of the site arose from the recognition that our current crises and the arrival of a new president make this a time when fresh thinking and new ideas can have an impact on public policy,” Kutz said.
The name “Blue Sky” evokes that which is both creative and practical, as well as the new attentiveness in Washington to policy ideas from all corners.
