Recruiting and Information Events

Want to learn more about the application process or Berkeley Law in particular? We invite you to join us for an online applicant information session hosted by the JD Admissions Office or attend one of the various law fairs, forums, and events that we will attend this fall.

Below is our calendar of recruitment events. Some are private, but many are open to the public as long as you register in advance.  We are continually adding additional events to this calendar as we confirm our attendance, so check back frequently. Click on each event for more information.

Recordings of select information sessions will be posted on our webinars page for future viewing. If you require an accommodation for effective communication (ASL interpreting/CART captioning, alternative media formats, etc.) to fully participate in any of our information sessions, please contact Chelsea Hackett at with as much advance notice as possible and at least 7-10 days in advance of the event.

L.A.W.S (Law Admissions Workshop Series) 2020

Hosted by a group of leading law schools, L.A.W.S. events are focused on providing prospective applicants with information about legal education, the legal profession, and preparing for the process of applying to law school. Admissions Deans from participating schools will participate in a panel discussion followed by a question and answer session. After the panels, representatives from each of the participating schools will be available for additional information and discussion during individual breakout sessions.

We believe there is a strong positive case to be made for law school and for the career opportunities available to graduates of our schools. Our workshops allow prospective applicants the opportunity to engage directly with experienced law school Deans of Admission, find out what they look for in applications, discover the innovative new approaches to legal education that are complementing more traditional approaches, and learn about the wonderful range of possibilities available to our graduates. The depth and breadth of the conversations that will be possible are simply not available in traditional one-size-fits-all events.

All events will be held via Zoom and registrants will receive event links in advance of the workshops.

Registration is required.

University of California Law Schools Panel

The five University of California law schools are coming together to do three virtual webinar panels this year. During these panels, Admissions Officers from each UC law school will answer general questions about our individual schools, the general application process, writing a personal statement, letters of recommendation, and the value of a University of California legal education both within California and across the country.

After the panel concludes, panelists and members of their offices will be available in school-specific Zoom meeting rooms to answer any school-specific questions.

Registration is required. We encourage you to only register for one panel because Zoom webinar capacity is limited and we would like to include as many prospective law students as possible. You will receive school-specific breakout links closer to the date of the panels. These panels are not generally recommended for those who have applications pending for admission.

Schedule – the Webinar is the first hour; breakout rooms are the second:

Monday, October 5, 2020 (5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Pacific). Register.

Thursday, November 19, 2020 (Noon to 2:00 PM Pacific). Register.

Tuesday, January 19, 2021 (3:00 PM to 5:00 PM Pacific). Register.
