How to Apply

The Berkeley Law Financial Aid Office partners with the Berkeley Law Admissions office, campus Financial Aid Office, and the Berkeley Graduate Division to provide student loans and gift aid (grants, fellowships, and scholarships) to J.D students. Some of the financial aid available through the School of Law is based on demonstrated financial need and, accordingly, requires the completion of financial aid forms as part of the application process. Please read the instructions carefully to ensure that you submit the applications that pertain to your status.

The Berkeley Law Admissions office works collaboratively with the Law Financial Aid Office to administer the majority of gift aid for J.D. students. As an entering J.D. student, you may receive a gift aid offer separately from federal student loans and other university financial aid. If gift aid from Berkeley Law is awarded after the offer of federal student loans and institutional aid, we will ensure that you are provided with the most beneficial revised financial aid package.
