J.S.D. Program Cost of Attendance
Tuition for first year J.S.D. students during the 2018-19 academic year is estimated at $19,111 for California residents or $34,213 for nonresidents, including the mandatory Student Health Insurance Plan. Details can be found here under “Graduate: Academic”.
Once a student advances to candidacy after the first year, the nonresident tuition fee (if applicable) is waived for two subsequent years.
Total fees for the 3-year program are approximately $58,000 for CA residents or $73,000 for nonresidents.

The law school does not provide funding for J.S.D. candidates, although candidates may seek work as research or teaching assistants on campus.
