UC Scholarships

The UC Berkeley Graduate Fellowships Office provides several scholarships for graduate students. Most are awarded based on the student's financial need as reflected on the FAFSA form.

Delores Zohrab Liebmann Fellowship
Fellowships are awarded annually, covering the cost of tuition and including a stipend for room, board, living expenses, and income taxes. The fellowships are intended for students of outstanding character and ability who hold promise for achievement and distinction in their chosen fields of study. Students of all national orgins who are U.S. citizens are invited to apply by the January 21 deadline. Applications are available in the Graduate Fellowships Office, 318 Sproul Hall.

Graduate Diversity Program (GDP) Award
This three-year award is given to outstanding entering J.D. students who contribute to the level of diversity within their discipline or the graduate community at large. Recipients may have shown academic achievement despite challenges such as social, economic or educational obstacles. Continued excellence in the J.D. Program is required. To be considered, U.S. citizens or permanent residents must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Boalt Hall Financial Aid Application. Applicants are nominated by Boalt Hall.

Graduate Parent Grant
This need-based scholarship, administered by UC Berkeley's Financial Aid Office, is awarded to married or single parents of dependent children.

James D. Kline Fund
Candidates pursuing a graduate degree at any UC campus and residing in any part of the world are eligible for this award. Funding is available for projects or programs of study that promote international understanding and world peace.
