Lesson 9: Changing the Background Color

Step 1: Changing the Background Color

• We will change the background color on the table so that the two columns are better distinguished from one another.

1. Highlight the first column of the table by either:
– Clicking on the first cell, holding down the mouse button, and dragging the cursor down to the last cell of the first column, or
– Holding the cursor immediately above the first column until the cursor turns into a black arrow pointing down, and clicking to select the first column.
Make sure that only cells in the first column are selected.
2. Change the background color by clicking on the little black arrow in the box by the Bg (Background) textbox in the Toolbar and choosing the gray that is 2 across and 5 down. (It should be the one named #CCCCCC.)

3. The table should now look like this:
