Accessing Password-Protected Web Pages
Many of the more useful web pages (such as CDO publications, Lexis and Westlaw login information) available on our website are password protected by the Calnet system. For access to most password protected areas of the Career Development Office website, when prompted by the phrase "This portion of the website requires authentication," click on "login with your Alternate ID." Then enter the CDO alumni username and password. If you do not have our alumni username and password, please contact us at 510-642-4567.
NB: This username and password only works for Calnet authentication. If the page you are on does not say Calnet on it, you must use a different password. When accessing a resource such as the b-Line or the Judge Database, a user-specific identifier is required. If you do not remember a previously assigned Judge Database or b-Line password or have never received one, and would like to do so, please call 510-642-4567.
b-Line (Boalt Careers Online)
Access: The b-Line does not require Calnet authentication, but you do need your own unique username and password to access the system. If this is your first time accessing the b-Line system, please Email the OCS to request access. Be sure to include your full name (please take any name changes into account!) and class year for verification. If you have forgotten your password, you can request a new one from the login page automatically.
With the b-Line, you can take advantage of a variety of online services, including creating an online profile, uploading your resume, searching the job database and reviewing employer profiles. Note, however, that access to on-campus interview programs apply only to current students. So, if you click on the OCI tab, the phrase "no record" will be all that you see.
One valuable feature of b-Line, if you are job-hunting with limited time available to you, is that you can set up searches of the job database to run automatically at selected intervals and automatically have opportunities that meet your search criteria emailed to you. We hope you will find the b-Line an efficient and easy resource to use for your job search needs. The Boalt Hall Judge Database
The Judge Database is an indispensible tool for those seeking federal judicial clerkships. It contains contact and sometimes biographical information on most current federal US judges and allows users to build their own judge lists to use in mailings.
Access: To access the Judge Database and other clerkship resources, you will first need to enter the Calnet ID and password described above. Since the database itself offers customizable features, you will need an additional unique username and password to access the Judge Database itself. If you have not been given this information, please contact us at 510-642-4567 to request it.
