Another unintended consequence of government database consolidation — per this article in the North Carolina News & Observer, NC residents (and doubtless others across the US) are being denied driver’s licenses as a consequence of intra-state DMV data sharing due to old, minor infractions such as unpaid parking tickets, or in some cases just due to error.  read more »
