Biography:I am completing my dissertation on the legal and extralegal regulation of expression in Massachusetts and Nova Scotia in the 1820s and 1830s. I hold an LL.M. in legal history from the University of British Columbia, which included a thesis on obscenity and the Toronto stage in the early 20th century. I am also a non-practising member of the British Columbia bar.
