Monali Sheth is a staff attorney at Equal Rights Advocates (ERA) in San Francisco, a non-profit legal organization that advocates on behalf of women and girls seeking equality in employment and education. Ms. Sheth leads ERA's Marginalized Worker Campaign, representing low-wage and immigrant women workers in employment discrimination and related civil rights litigation. Most recently, she co-chaired a successful jury trial ($812,001 damages award) on behalf of a Latina immigrant janitor in a sexual harassment and retaliation suit against one the largest building services contractors in the country.
Prior to joining ERA, Ms. Sheth practiced business litigation at the law firms of Farella Braun & Martel LLP and Cox Castle & Nicholson LLP in San Francisco. She graduated from U.C. Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law and was admitted to practice in 2005. Ms. Sheth earned her M.Sc. in Nationalism and Ethnicity with Distinction from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2001, and her B.A. in Ethnic Studies with Highest Honors and High Distinction in General Scholarship from U.C. Berkeley in 2000.
In addition to her legal work, Ms. Sheth also currently serves as an adjunct professor at U.C. Berkeley School of Law and a member of the Equity Advisory Committee to the San Francisco Human Rights Commission.
