Aleem Raja is a San Francisco Deputy Public Defender. Aleem has worked as a defense attorney for low income San Franciscans in the criminal justice system for over seven years. He is currently a felony attorney representing defendants from arraignment to jury trial in all types of cases including complex fraud matters and homicides. Aleem also runs the Summer Training Institute, a twelve hour trail skills training program for approximately sixty law student interns at the Public Defender's office. Before joining the Public Defender's office Aleem was the CalJustice Technology Director at the Public Interest Clearinghouse where he worked on issues of access to the courts for low-income litigants. He has also worked as a housing defense attorney for folks with HIV/AIDS in the San Francisco Bay Area at the AIDS Legal Referral Panel. Before his work as a public interest attorney, Aleem was an associate at the law firm of Gibson, Dunn, & Crutcher in San Francisco.
