Kent Wisner became a partner in the tax practice of K&L Gates LLP in May 2010. Resident in the Palo Alto office, he focuses on international tax planning for multinational enterprises with multi-jurisdictional operations, as well as cross-border transactions and tax controversies involving international issues. He has extensive experience in advising companies in the consumer business, computer hardware, software, semiconductor, e-business, private equity and transportation industries and has spent more than two decades focusing on international tax issues in the areas of operations planning, transaction structuring, intercompany pricing analysis, and advocacy in federal tax controversies at the audit and appellate levels. He is also a member of K&L Gates' multidisciplinary Sovereign Wealth Fund Task Force.
Prior to joining K&L Gates, Mr. Wisner's was an International Partner in the tax practice group of Baker & McKenzie and member of their North American Tax Practice Group Management Committee; a Principal in Deloitte Tax LLP; and a principal in the International Corporate Services group at KPMG LLP, where he was the tax function leader of their Silicon Valley semiconductor industry group and a member of their global sovereign wealth fund tax task force.
He is a member of the adjunct faculty at Boalt Hall, where he has taught the law school's courses in international taxation law since 2001.
