This course examines the law of proof as established primarily by the Federal Rules of Evidence. Topics include relevance, authentication of exhibits, character evidence, impeachment of witnesses, hearsay and the Confrontation Clause, expert witnesses and scientific evidence.
Most classes focus primarily on problems -- fact hypotheticals to which the evidence rules are applied. Class participation is mandatory.
Attendance at the first class session is mandatory for all students who are enrolled in the class, and for all who are on the Wait List and want to be enrolled.
