The Criminal Field Placement Seminar is the 2-unit required companion course to Criminal Field Placements, where students work on law-related matters in criminal non-profit and government agencies under the supervision of attorneys to receive academic credit. The 2-unit Seminar meets the Law School's Professional Responsibility and Professional Skills requirement. The Seminar provides students with an opportunity to reflect on their field work, explore professional responsibility topics, and to work on simulations and presentations related to their field placements. Students are expected to complete journals, timesheets, reports/forms and a final presentation to earn credit for the Field Placement Program and Seminar. In order to earn academic credit, field placements are offered for 4 units or 16 hours/week of work over the 14 weeks. The first Seminar meeting will be on Thursday, August 25, 2011. Students must submit a completed Field Placement Application to Boalt Hall 356 (available on Field Placement website or outside Boalt Hall 356) in order to receive course control numbers. Applications must be approved before students will be eligible to receive academic credit for their field placement work.
