The Judicial Externship Seminar is the required 1-unit companion course to the Judicial Externship Program. Students line up field placement opportunities with courts, chambers, administrative law judges, and other judicially-related work and apply to receive academic credit for their work. Please note this seminar will be frontloaded - that is, we will meet for a full day at the beginning of the semester and then we will meet as a class two other times during the semester. Students must attend the day long training in order to receive credit for their placements. Students will be expected to complete journals, timesheets, and forms/reports to earn the academic credit for the Judicial Externship Seminar and Program. For every 4 hours of work/week over a 14 week period, students receive 1 unit of credit. Judicial Externships may be taken for 4 - 10 units, depending on the number of non-classroom units students have available. The full day Judicial Externship Orientation is scheduled tentatively for Friday, August 26 2011. Please contact the instructor with any questions.
