Providing Pro Bono Legal Services: Professional Responsibility and Entrepreneurial Leadership.
This course is provided to the 2L and 3L student leaders of the Berkeley Law Student Initiated Legal Services Projects (SLIPS). The course will (1) examine the professional responsibilities of the legal profession, with a focus on the responsibilities of lawyers providing legal services to indigent clients; (2) apply the law of professional responsibility to the challenges of leading SLIPS projects; (3) explore the entrepreneurial leadership skills required for successful leadership of SLIPS projects; and (4) meet with leaders of legal services projects to analyze the sources of their successful leadership.
Limited enrollment: Enrollment is limited to the 2L and 3L student leaders of the Berkeley Law Student Initiated Legal Services Projects (SLIPS).
This course satisfies the Professional Responsibility Requirement.
