The General Field Placement Seminar is a 1-unit required course for students who hope/plan to earn academic credit for approved field placements in the San Francisco/Bay Area in the fall 2009 semester. The seminar meets about every other week for two hours. In the seminar, students will be expected to discuss their field placement experiences and we will cover topics related to: field placement learning opportunities, skills development (research, writing, professionalism, etc.), and other relevant issues (such as budgeting and diversity in the non-profit legal sector, access to justice, and lawyering styles and images, etc.,).
Prerequisites:
Students must have an accompanying part-time approved general civil field placement in the fall 2009 semester. Only 2nd and 3rd year students are eligible to participate. Students are expected to work 16 hours/week for 14 weeks for 4 units.
