The Criminal Field Placement Seminar is a 1-unit required seminar for law students who will be doing criminal law field placements in the fall 2009 semester. The seminar is taught by a criminal law practitioner. The seminar meets about every other week for two hours. In the seminar, students will be expected to discuss their externship experiences and we will cover topics related to: field placement learning opportunities, skills development (research, writing, professionalism, etc.) and issues specific to working in the criminal law field.

Prerequisites:
Students must have an accompanying part-time approved criminal law field placement in the fall 2009 semester. Only 2nd and 3rd year students are eligible to participate. Students are expected to do field placements for 4 units a semester, or 224 hours (16 hours/week for 14 weeks). Students must complete a Field Placement Application Form and have their field placements approved by the Field Placement Director before they can expect to be eligible to receive academic credit.
