This course is an introduction to white collar criminal law and practice. It is designed to
teach both substantive legal issues and real‐world lawyering skills. We will explore a range of crimes, including conspiracy, mail and wire fraud, securities fraud, antitrust violations, obstruction of justice, and perjury. Students will reinforce their understanding of the black‐letter law through practical exercises based on realistic fact patterns. The exercises will include lawyering skills such as conducting an internal investigation, creating an investigative plan, interviewing witnesses, calculating sentences, and drafting pretrial motions.
