The goal of the California Law Review Publishing Workshop is to help CLR members produce a publishable casenote or comment by the end of their 2L year. The Workshop will meet for seven two-hour sessions in Spring 2014. To enroll, the CLR member must have completed a draft of a paper by January 6, 2014, preferably in conjunction with a writing seminar or a Law 299 individual writing program during the Fall 2013 semester. The student is also required to have attended the CLR Writing Program seminars in the fall.
The instructors will supervise and facilitate the Workshop meetings and will provide feedback on each student’s draft. Other Workshop activities include presenting student work, responding to the work of other students, and a focus on the following topics: stating claims, titles, abstracts, stylistic issues, obstacles to revision, and finalizing drafts. Students will receive credit for the Workshop by producing a publishable note or comment, as determined by the instructor.
To enroll in this course, students should turn in their draft paper to Nina Jehle, CLR Senior Notes and Comments Editor, by January 6, 2014.
