Boalt Hosts Panel Discussion on 2005 Supreme Court Takings Cases
On Monday, June 20, Boalt's Environmental Law Program will host a panel discussion exploring a trio of recent takings cases—one on which the U.S. Supreme Court ruled earlier this term and two others whose rulings are forthcoming—and their impact on land-use planning and environmental protection. Panelists include Professor Emeritus Joseph Sax, one of the nation's preeminent legal scholars on takings law; Andrew Schwartz, of counsel at Shute, Mihaly & Weinberger and lead counsel for the city and county of San Francisco in one of the three cases the panel will take up, San Remo Hotel v. City and County of San Francisco; and Eric Grant '90, a leading advocate for property owners who submitted an amicus brief in San Remo Hotel.

The discussion will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Goldberg Room. One hour of CLE credit is available. Please RSVP to Mary Elliott at 510-642-7235 or melliott@law.berkeley.edu
