Professor Goodwin Liu Champions Increased Funding for California's Public Schools
In a June 23 San Francisco Chronicle opinion piece, Professor Goodwin Liu argues that California schools are underfunded in comparison with those in most of the nation, especially when cost of living and the state's changing demographics are taken into consideration. He proposes a "simple principle in funding our schools: Our education budget must be based on what it actually costs to enable all children to learn to high standards, not on annual political conflict and compromise."
