Boalt Hosts UC Berkeley's First Constitution Day
Boalt Hall will lead UC Berkeley's celebration of Constitution Day, an observance newly mandated by Congress to mark the anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787. Boalt will use the occasion to present an all-star panel of the school's constitutional scholars discussing how well the Constitution has mediated our society’s most basic conflicts and whether our founding document can be readily adapted to emerging challenges.

The panel, titled "The Path of Constitutional Law: Continuity, Crossroads, or Crisis?" will feature Boalt Dean Christopher Edley, Jr.; Judge William A. Fletcher of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and Richard W. Jennings Professor of Law, Emeritus; and Boalt Professors Jesse Choper, Goodwin Liu, John Yoo and Erin Murphy.

The event, open to all in the university community as well as to the general public, will be held Tuesday, September 20, from 12:30 to 1:55 p.m. in Boalt Hall's Booth Auditorium.
