Andrew Chirls '81 Joins Board of Philadelphia-based Philanthropic Foundation
Andrew Chirls '81, chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association, has been named to the board of managers of The Philadelphia Foundation, a pool of more than 650 charitable trusts and endowments serving southeastern Pennsylvania. As a board member, Chirls serves as a steward who helps establish policy, review investment performance, develop assets and oversee the grant-making process for the $275 million community foundation.
Chirls is a litigation partner, focusing on complex and major litigation, with Wolf, Block, Schorr and Solis-Cohen, a Philadelphia firm that he joined in 1982. He was elected to the Philadelphia Bar Association's board of governors in 1997 and served as its chairman in 2000. He assumed the chancellorship in 2005.
