Harry Scheiber Becomes President of the American Society for Legal History
In November Professor Harry Scheiber was installed as president of the American Society for Legal History (ASLH) at the society’s annual meeting in Washington, D.C. Scheiber is director of the Earl Warren Legal Institute and an expert in American legal history, environmental law, modern judicial reform, and Japanese-U.S. relations and ocean policy. Scheiber will serve as president of ASLH from 2003-05. Outgoing president Professor Robert Gordon of Yale Law School said in his inaugural introduction of Scheiber, “I am now well content to deliver seisin of this office of president to my friend and teacher, and master of our common craft, to Harry Scheiber, knowing it passes into the best possible hands.”
